So happy to have found you! I have followed you since the early days with Tom and relied upon you for my tech knowledge. After you left Market Place, I tried the podcast, but it didn’t work for me. This is perfect.
Hi Molly! Still missing you on Make Me Smart, Kai and Kimberly are great, but it’s not the same. I took a break when you moved on and eventually came back because it’s just so good. I hope the same of Twitter, it’s going through a transition and I don’t think it will die, I just don’t know how the story will end yet. Meanwhile, checkout projectliberty.io, dsnp.org, and unfinished.com. They are one of many organizations trying to build a new and better social networking world. Hope springs eternal!

Not happy about Elon's behavior on Twitter either, but I find the bird app a delightful place full of smart, amazing, and stimulating professionals. It takes a bit of cultivation, but not much. Tips: NEVER go to trending topics, block aggressively, turn on the "Quality Filter" in settings, tweak with advanced filters.
And glad to see you here too. One of my goals for 2023 is to write more about how to nurture a more resilient biosphere to support climate, with a strong focus on forests and watersheds.

I agree with you regarding all you said in this post. I would add that media, journalists, unfortunately have given those with histrionic personality disorders way too much press, feeding them exactly what these cluster B spectrum disorders desire and adding to their collective drama.
I look forward to the day when actual sociologists and psychologists design social media platforms rather than those who simply do not have the mental capacity to understand human emotions, such as empathy and contentment.

At a tech show 30 years ago (yes, I'm old) an engineering type come up to me and, unbidden, said "I don't like journalists," turned and walked away. I'd never seen him before, and I'm not sure even now how he cottoned to the fact I was a scribbler.
Anyway, just so people understand, journalists have NEVER been popular. You want to be popular, don't be a journalist. It's still a worthwhile job (comforting the afflicted etc.), but it's not and never will be popular.
I'm a long-time fan who followed you over to #TWiST, where I've heard some great interviews. Reading what's on *your* mind is a lovely bonus. The historical arc here is really informative.
